Pietro Di Giambattista born in Pannarano (BN), is an Italian documentary photographer specializing in stories with social themes. Since 1999, he has been documenting the Roma camps (a form of physical and social isolation) in the city of Rome. These camps, often located on the outskirts of the city and lacking essential services and public transportation, are seen as the result of housing policies that have marginalized the Roma and Sinti communities, relegating them to the margins of civil life. Pietro Di Giambattista has won awards in several national and international contests, and in 2002, he placed third in the prestigious World Press Photo competition in the Portraits category. His work has been exhibited in various Italian and European cities. He studied photography with prestigious names such as Paolo Pellegrin, Francesco Zizzola, Antonin Kratochvil, Michael Ackermann, Maurizio Galimberti, Eddie Ephraums, David Campany, and others. Pietro Di Giambattista is represented by the Italian Photojournalism Agency "Graffiti Press."
